BS from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore

JD performed his doctoral work at the California Institute of Technology under the supervision of David Tirrell, where he developed and applied new methods for time-resolved proteomic analysis of biological systems. In the Muir lab, JD is exploring the function of recently discovered histone posttranslational modifications using a combination of protein semisynthesis, proteomic, genetic, and biochemical techniques. In his free time, JD enjoys rock climbing and playing the ukulele, although usually not at the same time.
