Leslie applies a combination of bioinformatic and biochemical techniques to understand how chromatin is organized in an unusual group of organisms called ciliates. Prior to graduate school, he was immersed in the ultra-competitive food industry, having been enrolled in culinary school and eventually becoming certified as a pastry chef in 2012. Since then, he has come to his senses and now serves the greater good of Science.
