Gihoon obtained his PhD in chemistry from the University of Chicago, where he worked with Raymond Moellering on the discovery of novel metabolic signaling cascades and the development of novel chemoproteomic tools. In the Muir lab, he is interested in exploring the effects of histone variants and modifications on chromatin remodeling complex-nucleosome interactions and their association with human diseases. Outside of the lab, Gihoon enjoys skiing, hiking, and playing with lego.
