Juner obtained his Ph.D. in chemistry from the California Institute of Technology, where he worked with Frances Arnold on engineering new-to-nature carbene transferases for selective C–H functionalization reactions. In the Muir lab, he is interested in using chemoenzymatic tools to study novel PTMs and their roles in gene regulation. Outside of the lab, Juner enjoys cooking, rock climbing, and traveling.
